The Saudi Arabian government has set up a new commission to root out 'all forms of financial and administrative corruption' and also track down stolen money, said a report.

The Organisation of Anti-Corruption National Commission with wide-ranging powers to hunt down offenders, has been formed after getting the necessary approval from the cabinet of ministers, the report said, citing the official Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

'The commission aims to protect integrity, promote the principle of transparency, fight against financial and administrative corruption in all its forms and manifestations,' the SPA said.

It will be empowered to track down stolen money and also directly receive petitions from the public, the report added.
