Wasteco backs Dubai waste collection drive

Dubai, March 1, 2010

Wasteco, a solid waste collection and disposal service provider, participated in an annual waste collection initiative headed by the Dubai Municipality in the Al Aweer area.

This marked the first community project to be carried out by the company after it was acquired by averda, a leading regional environmental services company.

Wasteco provided three Tipper trucks, which hauled mostly agricultural waste (specifically trees and  branches) gathered by collectors provided by Al Aweer Dubai Municipality Waste Collection and disposed them in the designated landfill areas about three kilometres away.

The company has been certified by the Dubai Municipality for the transportation and safe disposal of all types of hazardous and non-hazardous solid or liquid waste, which ensured that all protocols were observed in the collection and dumping process.

“This partnership with the Dubai Municipality underlines both our capacity as a waste collection and disposal service provider and our social awareness in the campaign for cleanliness across the emirate,” said Harbinder Singh, MD, Wasteco.-TradeArabia News Service
