Bahrain Exhibition and Convention Society names new board

MANAMA, March 15, 2020

The Bahrain Exhibition and Convention Society has announced the formation of its new board of directors for 2020-2022.
 
The board is headed by Kazem Al-Saeed and will have Khalid Al-Shurafaa as vice-president; Ahmed Attiya Al Hujairi as secretary of the board; Ali Abil - financial secretary; Fawzi Al-Shihabi - board member; Abd Al Khaleq Milad - board member; and Fakhriya Hassan - reserve member.
 
Al-Saeed said the society will work to activate its role in serving the exhibitions and convention sector in Bahrain, support national efforts to advance this vital sector, and increase its contribution to GDP, especially with major prospective projects connected to the sector, the most important of which is the new exhibition city project in the Sakhir area.
 
“It is important to have that group of experts and workers in the exhibitions and convention sector under the umbrella of one society to develop it. This industry, which includes exhibitions, conferences, forums, seminars and other business activities that intersects with all economic sectors, has become an important industry for the promotion and diversification of economic activity, as its investments  are growing and expanding in the region and the world and Bahrain has to work to enhance its competitiveness in this field,” Al-Saeed said.
 
Al Hujairi affirmed that the association will work to attract more international and Middle Eastern companies and events for Bahrain and to encourage investment in the exhibition and conference industry sector. 
 
Al-Hujairi, who is the CEO of “WorkSmart” for events management, said Bahrain has managed in recent years to be a centre of attraction for many regional and international exhibitions and conferences and the establishment of events. 
 
The society will work to build bridges of cooperation and communication between the relevant official bodies and exhibition and conference companies and develop visions, plans and projects to advance this industry and strengthen its competitiveness, he said. - TradeArabia News Service
