OSN unveils big International Women’s Day line-up

RIYADH, March 2, 2019

OSN, the region’s leading entertainment network, is marking International Women’s Day (March 8) and Mother’s Day (March 21), with female-centric shows and movies throughout the month of March.
 
Unveiling the March plans, it said Comedy Central is championing International Women’s Day with a powerful line up of fierce female stand-up comedians including Natasha Leggero, Wanda Sykes, Rachel Feinstein and Nikki Glaser from 10.30pm (Saudi local time).
 
OSN will also premiere compelling women-centric documentaries, such as HBO’s The Inventor: Out for Blood in Silicon Valley and must-watch new and returning series with women at the helm like The Fix and For The People.
 
And on Mother’s Day, OSN Movies HD and OSN Yahala Cinema will pay tribute to the women that raise us with a Mother’s Day Marathon.
 
The unique, rewarding and often challenging role of motherhood is praised with a back-to-back marathon of movies on March 21 on OSN Movies HD from 10am (KSA). 
 
Movies include the star-studded comedy Mother’s Day, starring Jennifer Aniston, Kate Hudson and Julia Roberts. As well as the comedy films Mothers and Daughters and Snatched throughout the day. 
 
Over on OSN Yahala Cinema HD from 7pm (Saudi time), Arabic film fans can enjoy an evening of classic rom-coms, including Tamer Hosny’s Ahwak and Kedbet Kol Youm starring Amro Yousif and Shereen Reda.

The Inventor: Out for Blood in Silicon Valley
 
Academy Award winner Alex Gibney (Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room) directs a documentary investigating the rise and fall of Theranos, the one-time multibillion-dollar healthcare company founded by Elizabeth Holmes. In 2014, Theranos was valued at $9 billion. Just two years later, Theranos was cited as a "massive fraud" by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), and its value was less than zero. Premieres on March 23, 8pm on OSN First HD-Home of HBO.
 
The Fix, season 1
 
Robin Tunney (The Mentalist, Monster Party) plays Maya an LA prosecutor who moves to Oregon after losing a high-profile murder case, but when the killer strikes again, she returns to seek justice under her own terms. Premieres on March 25, 7pm on OSN Series First HD. 
 
For The People, season 2
 
From the ‘TV Titan’ Shonda Rhimes, comes this legal drama set in New York Federal Court. Six young, up-and-coming lawyers work for both the defense and the prosecution as they handle the highest profile and high stakes cases in the country - all as their personal lives intersect. Premieres on March 10, 9pm on OSN Series First HD.
 
Grown-ish, season 2 
 
A spin-off from “Black-ish” the Johnson family's eldest daughter Zoey (Yara Shahidi) is taking her first steps into the real world as she heads off to college."Grown-ish" explores the first trappings of adulthood and Zoey must navigate through the trials and tribulations of these momentous steps. Premieres on March 7 at 8pm on OSN Series Comedy HD.
