Special Google tribute for Bahrain's National Day

MANAMA, December 16, 2016

Google has joined in the celebrations of Bahrain’s National Day with a beautifully designed doodle that carried the image of Qalaat Bahrain, or the Bahrain Fort, a Unesco World Heritage site.

The doodle, published on the Google homepage, is designed in the national flag colours of Bahrain, white and red, reported BNA.

A picture of the fort is featured in the second ‘o’ in the Google logo.

“The fort is an important archaeological site that proves a human presence existed in Bahrain as far back as 2300 BCE,” Doodle said.

Bahrain is celebrating the special day with great pride in the achievements accomplished at the social, political and economic levels throughout the year and with high anticipation as the Kingdom’s leaders are confidently looking forward to more successes despite the economic challenges to the region and the world in general, said the BNA report.

The month of December was a clear evidence of Bahrain’s international stature when the Kingdom hosted in a matter of six days the 37th GCC summit, the GCC-UK summit with British Prime Minister Theresa May making her first visit to the region since she was elected in July, a Bahrain-Saudi Arabia summit with King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud making his first official visit to Bahrain, and the Manama Dialogue, the annual international conference that brings together political, military and security leaders from more than 20 countries, it added.
