Pyramedia CEO wins top global honours

DUBAI, December 19, 2015

Nashwa Al Ruwaini, the chief executive of Abu Dhabi-based media and TV production company Pyramedia, won top honours at the 19th edition of the IAIR Awards ceremony held recently in Dubai.

She was crowned the 'CEO of the Year in the Media & Entertainment Industry' at a glittering ceremony. This is the second consecutive recognition for Dr Al Ruwaini who was elected last year as IAIR Most Influential Woman of the Year.

Al Ruwaini is one of the most charismatic leaders in the Media & Entertainment industry and a powerful and influential woman not only in the Middle East, but worldwide, said the jury.

The award ceremony, held at the Palace Downtown Dubai on the 19th of November 2015, crowned her the CEO of the Year in the Media & Entertainment industry.

"The honour is for her pioneering capability in founding more than 20 years ago her own TV production company, Pyramedia, anticipating the standards and preferences of the audience and succeeding in every challenges she faced," remarked Guido Giommi, IAIR president and founder.

Saudi Hollandi Bank, NBAD, Oman Insurance, Airbus and Ericsson were some of the IAIR winning companies of this year’s edition.

Dr. Al Ruwaini was also among the key speakers at the CEO Summit, a panel discussion among CEOs and Top Executives concerning “Leadership: skills and visions for growth”.

The key topics discussed included the skills and challenges for C-Level Executives and the role of Middle East in the growth of global economy.

After receiving the award, Dr Al Ruwaini said: "I am honoured to be recognized by a prestigious award like IAIR for two years in a row, and with such exceptional array of nominees and leadership from different sectors from all over the world."

"I dedicate this award to my husband and my family “my biggest supporters” and to my colleagues who helped materialise the vision I had for Pyramedia with their dedication and perseverance," she stated.

"The recognition and achievement awarded to me from IAIR also makes me proud as an Arab woman recognized by an International award for such a difficult task of running a media company out of the Middle East. I would also like to thank the UAE from my heart because if it weren’t for the women empowerment plans by the leadership, my task would have been much more difficult," she added.-TradeArabia News Service
