Caroline Faraj ..... CNN Arabic's new vice president

CNN Arabic appoints new vice president

DUBAI, May 12, 2015

Arabic Services for CNN, an international news leader in the Middle East region, has appointed Caroline Faraj as its new vice president.

In this new position, Faraj will have strategic oversight of CNNArabic.com while also working alongside CNN’s Middle East news gathering team and the CNN Abu Dhabi operation on major cross-platform editorial initiatives and with the CNNI Commercial and Digital teams on new digital opportunities in the region, said a statement from CNN.

Faraj’s primary focus is on continuing the expansion of the CNN Arabic brand, while also expanding the CNN Dubai operation to allow for increased content development to feed all of CNN’s linear and non-linear platforms, it added.

She joined CNN in 2001 and has overseen the content and management of the CNN Arabic site which she launched in 2002. In 2014 she led the site’s comprehensive re-launch to embrace rapidly evolving consumer needs.

Andrew Morse, executive vice president and general manager, CNN Digital, said: “CNN Arabic has proved an outstanding success story under Caroline’s leadership and has demonstrated the region’s growing digital appetite for our news product.”

“Audiences have embraced the increased video content across the site, and user interaction and engagement is growing. There’s clearly a big opportunity in the Middle East and Caroline is well positioned to help us tap into it.” – TradeArabia News Service
