Dubai art gallery to host calligraphy show

DUBAI, April 19, 2015

ARTSPACE Gallery, one of the art world's leading platforms for contemporary Middle Eastern art in Dubai, UAE will host an exhibition showcasing the works of renowned calligraphy artist Mouneer al Shaarani.

The event, sponsored by Praesidium, a leading regulatory, compliance and client advisory firm, opens tomorrow (April 20) and run until May 16.

Mouneer Al- Shaarani is a celebrated calligrapher, designer and writer, living and working in Syria. He graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Damascus (1977). He studied under the Syrian calligrapher, Badawi Al Dirany.

His work has been exhibited internationally in Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, Egypt, Tunis, Algeria, Morocco, Bahrain, Abu Dhabi, Switzerland, France, Germany, Belgium, Italy, Yugoslavia, India, England and the US. He is highly regarded across the globe for introducing uniquely innovative calligraphic styles and for taking his inspiration from everything that surrounds him, old and new.
