DSF halts programmes to mourn King Abdullah

DUBAI, January 24, 2015

The Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) in Dubai, and its agency, Dubai Festivals & Retail Establishment, have halted all entertainment and musical activities related to the Dubai Shopping Festival till Sunday (January 25) owing to the demise of King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz of Saudi Arabia on Friday.

The DTCM announcement came as the UAE declared a three-day mourning period for King Abdullah.

"We extend our deepest condolences to our Saudi brethren and share their sorrows for this great loss. Due to the three-day mourning, a number of upcoming entertainment events have either been cancelled or postponed," the department said in a statement.-TradeArabia News Service
