Dubai signage show to feature car wrapping

The upcoming Sign & Graphic Imaging (SGI) Dubai 2015, a trade show for signage, will feature an exclusive area dedicated for exhibitors to display their live creative car wrapping expertise, said event organisers.
The car wrapping industry generated $220 to $250 million at the retail level, according to a global analysis conducted consulting firm Frost & Sullivan. The same study also projected 10 per cent year-on-year vehicle wrap market growth.
There are several associations in the UAE who are currently taking the lead in car wrapping.
“Car wrapping was originally designed as a medium of creating mobile advertising. The car wrapping industry has witnessed rapid growth in the UAE in recent years and this market is very much in the growth phase and has a tremendous potential,” said Abdul Rahman Falaknaz, chairman of event organisers International Expo Consults (IEC) part of Falak Holding.
“This medium definitely enables wide marketing outreach, and the effectiveness of the advertising as well as its aesthetic appeal has been the reason behind the recent surge in demand for car wraps. This is one of the most creative part of our shows and the car enthusiasts can definitely benefit from this live car wrap displays.”

Signtrade International, Strings International and System Middle East and several other exhibitors will be demonstrating their car wrapping product portfolios in addition to the other product offerings.

Businesses that specialize in wraps are fast gaining momentum in the UAE, and a large number of existing automotive aftermarket and signage businesses are adding this service to their current line of offerings to capitalize on the extra revenues,” added Rahman.
“This is a multimillion dollar industry in the US and other developed automobile markets. This is a phenomenon that is catching up fast in the UAE as well. Now in its 18th edition, SGI Dubai aims to welcome over 400 global exhibitors from across 34 countries and expects over 12,000 trade visitors from 78 countries to visit UAE during the show running from January 11 to 13 at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
