Dubai gears up for Royal India Luxury show

DUBAI, November 30, 2014

India’s fastest-growing luxury segments encompassing travel, hospitality, wellness, healthcare, education, fashion and lifestyle domains are coming together for an exclusive trade show to be held in Dubai, UAE, on December 4 and 5.

Royal India Luxury Show will aim to showcase the comparatively lesser-known ‘luxury’ facets of India among the Emiratis, Arabs and HNIs Asians, said the event organisers Globuzz, a Dubai-based luxury consultant.

The two-day show will be held from 10am to 6pm on a sprawling 22,000 sq ft area at Jumeirah Beach Hotel.

The organisers pointed out that the Royal India Luxury Show will be an interesting event for the Emiratis and other Arabs who have comparatively very little exposure about the India’s luxury element.

According to them, India cannot be explained but should be experienced. "The 21st century India is full of luxury experiences. India’s rich history is replete with opulence and grandeur and for centuries it has been a preferred destination to revitalise and rejuvenate the body and soul. India offers a diverse portfolio of unique and memorable experiences," they added.

India offers tourists unique experiences with its natural beauty, vivid festivals, exotic beaches and architectural marvels.

Luxury is the fastest growing segment with the visitors being offered tailor-made, refined and bespoke holidays experiences for individuals, couples and groups.

The Indian Ambassador to UAE TP Seetharam said India’s economic, trade and cultural links with the Arab world in general and the UAE in particular dates back to more than a century ago due to enhanced people-to-people contact.

"The Arab world constitutes an integral part of India’s extended neighborhood and is a region of critical importance in political, strategic, security and economic terms," he noted.

According to him, the upcoming show will create conducive environment that further enhances the uxury offering from India at a global marketplace.

"The decision of Government of India to relax visa rules for nationals of various countries is expected to give a boost to the number of visitors to India and luxury is one of the domains that will benefit from the new decision," he added.

Major exhibitors at the event include Incredible India (Ministry of Tourism, Government of India), Cox & Kings – the longest established travel company in the world, Cox & Kings Weddings, Ramoji Film City, Air Aura, Mehair, Sansha Spa, Woodland, Emgee Developers- Anantam, Jaypee Green Golf Course, Six Senses Spa, UAE Exchange, Sobha developers, Rocky S, Archana Kochhar, Neeta Lulla, Monapali, Rohit Verma and Satya Paul.

Paras Shahdadpuri, the chairman of Nikai Group and president of Indian Business and Professionals Council (IBPC), said such an exclusive show would go a long way towards marketing, promoting and branding India’s portfolio of luxury products and services.

"India should not only intensify its marketing and promotional efforts, but the Indian luxury market stakeholders should also take measures to maintain credibility all along having the visibility in the right places. In today’s business environment, it was not just enough to have a good luxury product or service, but also these need to be marketed, branded and promoted well to the wider world audiences," he noted.

"The bilateral trade accounts for over $65 billion and the UAE offers immense growth opportunities for Indian businesses which needs to be channelised and tapped by the luxury market players. India’s luxury segment needs to be marketed to the world in an aggressive manner and Royal India-2014 need to be appreciated," he added.

This show perfectly supports the initiative to market and promote India as a luxury destination in all its totality.

IRV Rao, the assistant director, India Tourism Office, said: "Royal India showcases the luxury tourism products of India and helps to imbibe the grandeur and greatness of heritage, luxury hotels, trains and wellness in the minds of affluent Emiratis and Arabs in the region."

Gayathri Elayath Bhardwaj, the chief event organiser, Globuzz, said: “Based on the success of the debut show, Royal India Luxury Show-2014 has been fine-tuned and we have given it a more result-oriented approach in engaging a premium, unique group in a people-to-people format in meeting their needs and expectations about the luxury and class out of India. This show will truly fulfill their aspirations.”

The opening ceremony will be attended among others by the Philippines ambassador, Grace R Princesa, Seychelles ambassador, Dick Patrick Esparon, Korean Consul General, Seongdoo Ahn, and New Zealand Consul General Clayton Kimpton.

A charity fashion show and a grand dinner reception are the other highlights of this year’s event.-TradeArabia News Service
