The Cribb in Dubai marks 1-year anniversary

DUBAI
, September 10, 2014

The Cribb, an entrepreneurial ecosystem which opened its doors in September last year, is set to mark its one-year anniversary by hosting a fun evening of thought leader panels and networking on September 15.

The facility in Al Quoz, where start-ups can be nurtured and grow, is equipped with business services, work desks, meeting and event space and onsite food and beverages, said a statement.

Founded by Innovation 360, a leading innovation consultancy in Dubai, The Cribb was originally established as a workspace for teams from i360accelerator and TURN8 startup accelerators, it said.

Since its inception, The Cribb has spawned several award-winning business startups, and has held a number of educational and fun events for entrepreneurs in the region.

Some of the events include ‘Startup Corner,’ weekly events led by area entrepreneurs on tops from app design and development to financials and setting goals; and special events such as AngelHack Dubai, FailCon, and Seedstars World.

The Cribb most recently joined the realm of venture capital investment, as a regional host to a new $100 million investment fund from Fenox Venture Capital, which seeks to invest in seed, Series A and pre-IPO funding throughout the US, Asia and Middle East.

Kamal Hassan, founder of Innovation 360, i360accelerator and The Cribb, said: “It has always been our goal to become the most innovative and popular social hub in the Middle East, helping creative minds develop their ideas into viable businesses. After such a successful first year, I believe we are well on the way to achieving that dream.”

Mohamed Hamdy, managing director of i360accelerator, said: “"We plan to continue enriching the ecosystem of startups here in Dubai by launching initiatives such as a coding and development academy soon at The Cribb." - TradeArabia News Service
