Deutsche Bank backs Saudi-based charity centre

Riyadh, February 2, 2014

Deutsche Bank has partnered with Al-Holailah Charity Society, which is affliated with Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Social Affairs, as part of its commitment to corporate social responsibility in the kingdom.

The bank will support, through its Middle East Foundation, the society’s Humanitarian Rehabilitating and Training Center in Al Ahsa in the eastern province of the kingdom.

The centre consists of six training rooms to host four training units: computer unit, makeup and skincare unit, dressmaking and embroidery unit, and English language unit.

Philippe Vollot, chairman of Deutsche Bank’s Middle East Foundation and the bank’s regional chief operating officer, said: “We are really delighted that we have established this partnership with Al-Holailah Charity Society. Through our Middle East Foundation we continue to bring our global commitment into the communities where we live and operate in.”

Jamal Al Kishi, chief executive officer of Deutsche Securities Saudi Arabia, added: “It gives us great pleasure to support the Humanitarian Rehabilitating and Training Center and to help enable disadvantaged families become more self-sufficient members of society. By providing them with basic skills, we are confident the centre will help them enhance their standards of living.”

Saeed Alabad Rab Alrida, vice president of the society, said: “The aim of the centre is to help enable poor families to earn a living by providing them with skills that make them employable.  Deutsche Bank’s Middle East Foundation support will enable us to build the centre's educational infrastructure and capacity." - TradeArabia News Service
