Leadership reviewed at key forum

Energy Minister Dr Abdulhussain Mirza yesterday inaugurated the two-day International Leadership Conference organised by the Bahrain Management Society.

The event, at the InterContinental Regency Bahrain, is being held under the theme 'Strengthening regional competitiveness through leadership, critical thinking and innovation', in collaboration with the National Oil and Gas Authority.

Local, regional and international speakers, chief executives, managers and heads of departments are among those attending.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Dr Mirza said the conference would contribute in encouraging best leadership, professional competence and administrative practices as well as the development of the capacities of leaders and managers in Bahrain.

He said that the energy sector in Bahrain encouraged young leaders to attain leadership positions in oil companies.

The event is being sponsored by Alba, whose chief executive Laurent Schmitt said the success of every organisation was in how effectively the leadership was able to lead, manage and inspire the workforce to achieve corporate goals and deliver results.-TradeArabia News Service
