Bahrain policeman killed in blast

Manama, July 5, 2014

A Bahraini policeman died early morning on Saturday after being injured in a bomb blast while on duty at East Eker, said a report, citing the Interior Ministry.

Mahmood Fareed, 24, was on duty, patrolling the area last night when he suffered injuries to his legs and abdomen from the bombing, the ministry said.

However, it was unclear if he suffered burn injuries or was injured by splinters.

He was rushed to BDF Hospital where he succumbed to injuries after midnight, reported the Gulf Daily News, our sister publication.

Meanwhile, a car parked near Salmaniya Medical Complex caught fire that spread to other cars parked nearby. Firemen put out the blaze caused by a short circuit.-TradeArabia News Service
