Panel discusses political societies law amendments

Manama, March 27, 2014

Parliaments Legislative and Legal Affairs Committee yesterday discussed a draft law on the amendment of a number of provisions of the law on political societies.

Committee head Ahmed Al Mulla said the draft law was approved and submitted to parliament's secretariat, said a report in the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.

He said the committee discussed the Shura Council's resolution on providing insurance policy for military personnel of GCC states working in member countries.

The meeting also discussed the Shura Council's resolution on practising veterinary medicine in GCC countries, a draft law on the amendment of Article 363 of the Penal Code of 1976, a draft law on Article 9 of Law No 11 of 1975 on passports, and Shura Council's resolution on veterinary products for GCC countries.

The panel approved all submitted matters and forwarded them to relevant committees.

MPs Khamis Al Rumaihi, Abdulhaleem Murad, Hassan Al Dossary, Jassim Al Saeedi and Dr Ali Ahmed have submitted an urgent request to discuss power cuts.

This follows complaints, particularly from orphans, widowed and divorced women and low-income families, reports our sister paper Akhbar Al Khaleej. - TradeArabia News Service
