Abu Dhabi renews UK police ties

Abu Dhabi, March 1, 2014

The Abu Dhabi Police GHQ has renewed co-operation agreement with its British counterpart, the Metropolitan Police, in all areas of police work.

The agreement will allow both parties to exchange information and expertise and improve development opportunities, said Major General Mohamed bin Al Awadi Al Menhali, the Director General of Human Resources at Abu Dhabi Police GHQ, after signing the deal with Metropolitan Police Commissioner Sir Bernard Hogan-Howe.

Major Gen Al Menhali stressed that renewing the agreement with Met Police reflects the police leadership’s directives to strengthen co-operation with police institutions worldwide, and leverage the best practices to improve performance, and the quality of services, as well as fight crime in general.

Major Gen Al Menhali had recently visited the United Kingdom with an Abu Dhabi Police delegation, where he held talks with Hogan-Howe.

Discussions focused on enhancing all aspects of co-operation in police work, implementing best practices, and leveraging mutual expertise to improve performance and service quality.

Both parties also discussed ways to meet the challenges of policing at the global level.-TradeArabia News Service
