Auditing push for small enterprises in Bahrain

Bahrain has launched an initiative to boost auditing services in small and medium enterprises (SMEs), said a report.

Industry and Commerce Minister Dr Hassan Fakhro chaired a meeting with owners of a number of audit companies to activate the initiative in Bahrain that was launched by the ministry as one of the major moves to co-ordinate and support SMEs, reported the Gulf Daily News, our sister publication.

Dr Fakhro praised audit firms' efforts and their response to co-operate with the ministry in supporting this move that would benefit SMEs.

He said that SMEs will benefit from this initiative and will contribute to developing their economic role.

Dr Fakhro said the ministry will step up efforts to raise awareness on the importance of preparing accounting report for SMEs through holding workshop.

SMEs can access a list of auditing and accounting companies who participated in this initiative through the ministry's website www.moic.gov.bh.

The minister also called for holding regular meetings with the owners of audit companies to review the growth of small businesses.-TradeArabia News Service
