Holiday announced for UAE National Day

Abu Dhabi, November 26, 2013

Public institutions in the United Arab Emirates will have holidays on December 1 and 2 to mark the 42nd National Day, the Cabinet decided at a session held at the Presidential Palace yesterday.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, congratulated the UAE people on the occasion of the anniversary on December 2.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Labour said private sector workers will get one day's paid holiday to mark the occasion.

All workers in the private sector who have Friday only as their weekend, will get Saturday as the official paid holiday. Workers who have a two-day weekend on Friday and Saturday will have their holiday on Sunday, Wam said.
