Veritas recognised for second consecutive time

DUBAI, January 21, 2021

Veritas Technologies, a global leader in data protection, availability and insights, has announced it’s being named a 2021 Gartner Peer Insights Customers’ Choice in Data Centre Backup and Recovery Solutions for NetBackup 8.3.

The announcement follows previous recognition by customers for NetBackup 8.2 in the February 2020 Gartner Peer Insights Customers’ Choice for Data Centre Backup and Recovery Solutions – and being positioned a Leader by Gartner analysts in the 2020 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Data Centre Backup and Recovery Solutions for the 15th consecutive time last July.

Gartner defines Data Centre Backup and Recovery Solutions as providing backup capabilities for upper-end, mid-market and large-enterprise environments. The Gartner Peer Insights Customers’ Choice is based on feedback and ratings from end-user professionals with experience purchasing, implementing and/or using the product or service. As of January 17, 2021, Veritas scored an overall rating of 4.8 stars out of 5.0 based on verified IT customers providing reviews to Gartner Peer Insights during the last 12 months.

“Despite challenging global market conditions, Veritas continues to innovate and deliver world-class solutions. We think this commitment is clearly reflected with NetBackup again being recognised by customers on Gartner Peer Insights,” said Deepak Mohan, executive vice president, Products Organisation at Veritas.

“To us, today’s designation further validates our dedication to customers through delivery of market-leading enterprise data protection solutions. As we move further into 2021, Veritas will continue to support businesses as they navigate this ever-changing market landscape.”
At the heart of the Veritas Enterprise Data Services Platform (EDSP), NetBackup is the leader in enterprise data protection from the edge to core to cloud – helping customers reduce risk, optimise cost, strengthen ransomware resiliency, and manage multi-cloud environments at scale.

With unified data protection, Veritas enables enterprise customers to protect any workload and improve the resiliency of applications and infrastructure regardless of where data resides.

Highlights from customer feedback in the Gartner report include:
*“Veritas NetBackup allows you to have flexibility. For almost anything that has to be backed up, Veritas NetBackup has a solution, it also has an integration with VMWare that gives almost immediate disaster recovery. I’m happy with Veritas because it handles backups correctly, mainly problems related to system and folder backups,” wrote a network administrator in the finance industry.

*“We converted to NetBackup from a collection of other backup products to help with scalability and also to provide coverage for our varied infrastructure. The reliability of the environment has been great and helped get us through significant recovery effort during a major security event a few years back. If we had been running on our old infrastructure it would have been a nightmare situation to recover,” wrote a senior systems analyst in the healthcare industry.

*NetBackup can protect important data across on- premise deployments and in private and public cloud environments,” wrote a petrochemical IT support staff in the energy and utilities industry. -- Tradearabia News Service
