NGN, Huawei start 5G training programme in Bahrain

MANAMA, July 10, 2019

NGN Training Centre (NGN), a specialised tech training company in Bahrain, is conducting a special training programme in collaboration with global ICT leader Huawei ahead of the launch of 5G network in the kingdom.

The training includes the basic principles of 5G networks, for those who will attend the Hyper Converged Infrastructure Appliance (HCIA) – 5G radio access network (RAN) certification exam, and those who hope to learn the basic 5G concept and basic operating and maintenance principles of Huawei 5G RAN.

Speaking during the launch at NGN headquarters in Bahrain World Trade Centre, the training firm’s chief executive Yaqoob Al Awadhi said Bahrain’s success in localising the applications of fifth generation (5G) networks requires relevant skill development in Bahrainis.

“This will enable them to understand the technology and deal with its applications in artificial intelligence, healthcare, banking, government, industries, distance education and other modern concepts,” said Mr Al Awadhi.

Huawei Bahrain chief executive John Lu Yuedong said the company believes human resources are “the foundation of the new digital era, and developing Bahraini ICT talents is integral to Bahrain becoming’ safe and smart kingdom’.

Huawei, he said, has launched a unique 5G course in line with global industry standards, inspired by a progressive approach to the evolution of ICT.

As Bahrain’s strategic partner for ICT, Huawei was the first vendor to provide 5G technology last year, stated Yuedong.

"We are proud of our partners and customers in adopting our 5G products and solutions. We fully believe that Bahrain will keep its leading position in 5G," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
