One Million Arab Coders launches new set of coding

One Million Arab Coders has launched a new set of coding and programming training courses to enhance the knowledge and skills of Arab coders, as well as provide them with new employment opportunities for jobs of the future.

These courses will train more specialised and professional programmers, graduate a generation of digital experts, and provide Arab coders with the tools necessary to lead the digital future, reported state news agency Wam.

The One Million Arab Coder initiative, launched under the umbrella of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives and lead by Dubai Future Foundation, seeks to expand its participation to a wider segment of Arabic speakers to develop their skills and equip them with the tools necessary to cope with the rapid changes in the world of technology, hence developing individuals on both personal and professional level.

The new courses launched jointly by Dubai Future Foundation and Microsoft, include 'Introduction to AI' which focuses on the development of artificial intelligence technology, developing Java programming language skills, Azure app services and developing smart apps, and design thinking concepts.

The initiative brings together more than 3,600 certified trainers from around the world in various disciplines to train and answer various questions posed by programmers in the courses.

In October 2017, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, launched the One Million Arab Coders initiative, which aims to empower Arab youth in the region by providing them with jobs in the future technology sector and provide specialised scientific training to support them with shaping the future, contributing to the growth of the Arab region as well as creating a positive shift and hope in the Arab world.
