Mobily, Ooredoo in free data roaming package deal

Saudi-based telecom services operator Mobily said it has added Kuwait Ooredoo company to its Raqi package list under which subscribers can use free data roaming service.

With this, Kuwait has been added to the Raqi package subscribers' list of countries, said a statement from the company.

Raqi offers its subscribers free roaming access in numerous countries, including UAE, US, France, Britain, Egypt, Bahrain, Jordan. This free internet access does not need prior subscription or any additional charges to be activated, it added.

Athbi Alaqeel, the general manager (VIP Sales) said: "We aim to provide the best services to Raqi package subscribers, which are not restricted to free data service during international roaming only, but Raqi subscribers can also get 200 free calling minutes outside the Kingdom, in addition, the priority and attention while calling senior customers care center 1100 in a way enabling them to get answer to their queries within few seconds.”

Raqi package has many unique features such as cash back benefit up to SR3,600 ($959) per annum with subscription to new Raqi package.

"Under this scheme, the subscriber can retrieve the value of the smartphone he purchases from any of Mobily branches and the value will be deducted from monthly bills over twelve months from the date of purchasing the device," explained Alaqeel.

"Moreover, Raqi package allows its subscribers an exceptional travel experience through the international “Priority Pass” membership. Mobily is the first Saudi operator to provide such a service, whether inside or outside the kingdom," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
