Mobily inks partnership deal with Saudi university

RIYADH, December 19, 2015

Saudi -based telecom operator Mobily said it has signed a MoU with King Abdul Aziz University to advance the study of science and technology by supporting the dissemination of knowledge and providing practical and hands-on training for students.

It will enable the students to hone their skills required for increasing their prospects in the job market at the completion of their education, said Ahmed Farrukh, CEO of Mobily after signing the deal with the acting general manager of the university, Abdul Rahman Bin Obeid Al Youbi in the presence of a number of representatives.
 
Based upon the terms of the MoU, the students will have a unique opportunity to improve their skill based trainings that focusing on practical areas within technology, such as mobile Apps, communications technology, Apps development and computer software, remarked Farrukh.

These practical skills will go a long way towards helping students acquire relevant job related knowledge and expertise, that would enable them to get jobs and contribute more positively in their careers beyond completion of their studies, he stated.
 
The agreement encompasses other aspects of mutual cooperation, such as participation of one of the University branches in the application development contest, being carried out by Mobily, he added.

Under the deal, Mobily will also facilitate the university by providing text messaging service to help deliver its community news to the staff of the institution. In addition to that, special data packages are being offered to the administration and teachers of the university enabling stronger internal communications between university, its employees, departments, faculty and students.-TradeArabia News Service
