Batelco backs Bahrain’s e-economy directions

MANAMA, October 5, 2015

Bahrain's leading business solutions provider Batelco has said 50 per cent percent of its enterprise customers have opted to use their electronic billing (e-billing) service option and stop receiving printed bills.

The company is reaching out to its customers to support its ongoing ‘go-green’ initiatives such as e-billing services, said a statement.

The campaign to promote e-billing also supports the kingdom’s 2030 vision which aspires to an e-economy, with all residents of Bahrain having access to internet services and a wide range of online applications to enhance their lifestyles, it said.

Batelco’s e-billing service will delivers a secure and convenient way to review and pay phone bills. Customers can register for e-Billing by visiting the company’s e-services portal on batelco.com and access e-services via the login link on the homepage.

By using the service customer can receive electronic versions of their monthly phone bill/s by e-mail, view bill details and pay online using a credit or debit card, download and save bills in PDF format, help save the environment by disabling paper bills, and protect personal information from unauthorised access.

Donya Al-Ansari, acting in charge of the Enterprise Division, said that Batelco’s e-billing was introduced to meet the demand from customers for electronic services that are easy to use and environmentally friendly, by eliminating paper bills.

“The service is very convenient and free of charge and furthermore, by going green, businesses can improve their overall efficiency by reducing unnecessary paper waste thus trimming their operating costs.”

“We are encouraging all our customers to get onboard with this initiative and reduce the paper clutter in their homes and offices. With the growing use of smart devices adding to the wide use of PC’s and laptops, more and more people are carrying out a broader range of transactions online including bill payments,” Al-Ansari said.
“An additional benefit of e-Billing is that it ensures confidentiality by removing the issue of bills being lost in the post or being returned due to customers’ changing their addresses; an e-Bill reaches the customer no matter where he or she is,” he added.

In addition to the e-billing service, Batelco’s e-services portal also provides ease of access for customers to a range of services such as managing broadband or mobile accounts, subscribing or upgrading to a range of broadband and mobile services, customising packages and reservation of nice numbers. - TradeArabia News Service
