Leading telecommunications operator Etisalat is set to accelerate adoption of mobility for enterprises in the UAE, enabling business customers to meet their organisational demands through secure cloud-based solutions.

 

This year, the IT sector in the UAE has been forecast to grow over Dh18 billion ($4.8 billion) from about Dh17 billion last year, said a statement.

 

More recently, tablet computers have become more popular among consumers as they provide computing power to the user with mobility, it said.

 

Etisalat has collaborated with Kony, a leading enterprise mobility company, in providing its enterprise customers with a rich collection of pre-built enterprise apps and app models, which can be used to quickly assemble and configure secure, enterprise-grade mobile apps. 

 

It will provide its customers with a full-spectrum of enterprise mobility solutions and enable strong integration capabilities supporting a range of complex enterprise applications. 

 

The service level agreements will provide Etisalat’s customers guaranteed support for new devices and operating systems. 

 

Salvador Anglada, chief business officer, Etisalat, said: “Etisalat is gearing  towards becoming a one-stop IT superstore and offer customers with a rich set of cloud based solutions and applications which includes mobile solutions across the full Software Development Lifecycle, empowering businesses to securely design, build, configure, host and manage multi-edge mobile applications from a single codebase.

 

“We are partnering with leading suppliers to offer industry-leading enterprise mobility solutions that will enable our customers to rapidly deliver innovative mobile applications with stunning experiences to drive user adoption.

To further encourage adoption of enterprise mobility, Etisalat is setting up a Centre of Excellence (CoE) in the UAE for enterprise mobility, bringing in specialised consultants, operators and developers, said the statement.

 

Etisalat’s CoEs will help understand business requirements, enabling Etisalat to offer customised mobility solutions, cloud services, platforms and professional services, which will cater to the customers’ mobility app needs for improved business efficiencies, it said.
