Mobily, Semanoor launch ‘Rosom’ learning service

RIYADH, July 2, 2015

Mobily, a leading telecommunications operator in Saudi Arabia, has launched ‘Rosom’ learning service in collaboration with Semanoor, an e-learning and training company.

This will be the first electronic educational and innovative service of its kind in the region, said the statement.

This service is considered as a platform for producing ‘electronic stories’ that develop the principle of logical thinking and as a creative tool enables students to formulate simplified electronic stories without the requirement of software or programming knowledge, it said.

Through this service, students can convert drawings into moving scenes with the help of a library consisting of more than 300 personalities  and more than 8,000 moves, and then they can convert the production into a video which can be saved or shared through social networking sites.

The service coincides with the signing of a strategic partnership agreement to provide an exclusive educational services in collaboration with the Semanoor Saudi Arabia company which works on the development of e-learning techniques and their application in the kingdom, in order to provide a fertile learning environment for the benefit of all parties, such as government institutions, schools, universities, institutes and training centers in addition to teachers, students and researchers in the field of education.

John Saad, chief consumer officer, Mobily, said: "We would like to thank Semanoor company for its fruitful partnership with us, and we are keen to launch a number of exclusive learning services to our subscribers in cooperation with Semanoor company, through packages, products and services for the electronic and distinguished curriculum that serve public and regular education students.

“Moreover, the educational curriculum will be provided on the form of smart books easy to handle through the well-known electronic stores and smart devices."

Emad bin Fahd Al Dughaither, chief executive officer, Semanoor Company, said that this partnership will provide a creative educational platform for the students in the kingdom and provide them with intelligent and interactive books, in addition to creating animated cartoons on the web and provide creative rights sale service for subscribers through various export means on mobile devices and tablets.

“This service will develop the skills of creative students in the field of stories and novels, as well as educational stories.”

Mobily and Semanoor will provide the latest international educational applications in an entertaining style which tells about the events of the Arab-Islamic history that took place in the Arab region, and talk also about Muslim scientists, the statement said.

The stories will carry educational and moral messages, and will be posted on more than seven well-known platforms such as PS3, WII, IPA, iPhone iPod, Mac, and Windows. - TradeArabia News Service
