The new technology will enhance network performance for
Batelco’s enterprise and SoHo customers

Batelco’s new technology to boost indoor coverage

MANAMA, June 3, 2015

Bahrain-based Batelco, a leading telecom group, and ip.access, the small cell end-to-end solution provider, plan to roll out a new technology to enhance network performance for Batelco’s enterprise and SoHo (Small Office Home Office) customers.

The enhancement is designed to support customers who currently do not receive an adequate indoor mobile phone signal but now thanks to SignalBoost, the latest technology from Batelco, these customers can benefit from an improved experience and trusted connection for their business or homes, a statement said.

The Batelco SignalBoost is a solution that operates on the mobile network’s spectrum connecting smartphones and tablets to Batelco’s mobile network using Batelco fixed Broadband connection.  It is a secured solution to improve mobile phone user’s indoor mobile signal.

Furthermore, Batelco and ip.access are also currently in discussion over the establishment of an LTE Lab trial, which aims to boost 4G indoor coverage for Small office Home office later this year.

Batelco A/CEO, Muna Al Hashemi said: “The SignalBoost by Batelco allows us to provide coverage exactly where our customers need it, meaning we can maintain high quality service levels at all times and across all locations.”

“We are very pleased with the outcome so far and appreciate the support of ip.access. It was important to us to work with a vendor that could deliver not just world class technology to meet our requirements but also could work seamlessly with our existing suppliers to integrate the solution with our network,” Al Hashemi added.

ip.access CEO, Simon Brown said: “We are delighted to be working so closely with Batelco.  Our experience in delivering and managing mass-market roll-outs of small cells, together with our commitment to the region confirms our ability to deliver end-to-end solutions across a full range of public and private access small cells.” – TradeArabia News Service
