Batelco, a Bahrain-based telecom company, and global IT solutions provider Huawei signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) which will see Huawei utilise Batelco’s infrastructure and facilities to set up a Research and Development (R&D) Lab within Batelco’s ideas Innovation Centre.

The MoU was signed by Batelco A/CEO Muna Al Hashemi and Huawei Bahrain country manager Feng Nan at Batelco’s ideas Innovation Centre.

Under the agreement, Huawei will undertake to support Batelco to attain Broadband leadership with full capabilities for offering Best-in-Class network services. The agreement will reinforce the strategic partnership between both global organisations and support Batelco’s vision of transformation excellence.

A number of key objectives have been outlined and both parties will be working throughout 2015 to achieve a number of goals that aim to be mutually beneficial.

Al Hashemi said that Batelco very much appreciates the role that Huawei, as a leading communications technology solutions provider, has played in supporting the delivery of services for Batelco’s customers over the years.
