Top UAE firms win SAP Mena Quality Awards

DUBAI, March 24, 2015

UAE-based organisations Danway Electrical and Mechanical Engineering, Bee’ah, Al Futtaim, and wasl Asset Management Group, were recognised as the Middle East’s leading business innovators at the SAP Mena Quality Awards.

The SAP Quality Awards honour customers who have excelled in the planning and execution of their SAP software implementations in line with SAP quality principles, and delivering significantly enhanced return on investment, said a statement.

Other companies in the region who have won Gold include Al Nasser Group from Saudi Arabia, it said.

Frank Forndron, head of customer office, SAP Mena and Quality Management for SAP Emerging Markets, said: “Our Quality Awards recognise how Mena organisations of all sizes and industries are using the latest technology to drive innovation and value realisation, and support the next generation of customer and citizen services, while serving as best practices for the wider EMEA region and around the world.”

In the Rapid Delivery Category, Danway - the engineering arm of Al-Nowais Investments, won gold for partnering with Computer Sciences Corporation to deliver an integrated ERP application.

The UAE’s Etihad Rail took silver with partner Accenture, and Albatha Group with partner NTT data won bronze.

Amit Bansal, chief financial officer, Danway, said: “We replaced disjointed and siloed systems with an integrated platform that reduces the procurement process life cycle, increases project performance efficiency, and reduces the time for generating financial statements and payroll – enabling us to boost the effectiveness and control over operations.”

Bee'ah, a Sharjah-based environmental management company, won gold in Business Transformation for an ERP project with partner Innosoft to integrate 2,900 employees in four sites and nine plants.

Yousif Al Zarouni, director of procurement, contracts, legal and IT, Bee’ah, said: “This was a well-planned and managed ERP project that has broken down silos to re-engineer our business, and free up our teams from routine work to focus on key business tasks, as we aim to make Sharjah the first Arab zero waste-to-landfill city.

In Business Transformation, Kuwait’s Equate Petrochemical Company took silver with SAP FS Mena, while the Saudi Arabia Military Industries Corporation received bronze with partner Al Bilad Arabia.

This year’s awards featured three Innovation Excellence Award winners - Al Futtaim for Cloud, Al Nasser Trading and Import Company for SAP Hana, and wasl Asset Management Group for Mobility.

The UAE’s Al Futtaim, won the Cloud Excellence award for implementing SAP’s SuccessFactors with partner GP Strategies to drive the ‘Talent for Growth’ change agenda.

The Mobility Excellence Award was won by wasl Asset Management Group, a UAE-based real estate portfolio and asset management company, which worked with partners Accely and Mindtree to implement a mobile channel for more than 20,000 customer, partner, and staff transactions.
 
For Hana Excellence, SAP recognised the Saudi Arabia’s Al Nasser Group for its successful implementation of an SAP Hana Business Suite solution with partner Inntree including finance, controlling, human resources, sales and distribution, and banking integration modules.

The second winner was the kingdom’s Abdul Rahman Ali Alturki with partner Baaskaar.

All the winners, will advance to the SAP Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) Quality Awards finals. - TradeArabia News Service
