BlackBerry launches new smartphone model

DUBAI, December 24, 2014

BlackBerry, a multinational telecommunications company, has launched the BlackBerry Classic, a basic smartphone built for speed and accuracy by incorporating the functional physical Qwerty keyboard.

John Chen, executive chairman and CEO at BlackBerry, said: “We listened closely to our customers’ feedback to ensure we are delivering the technologies to power them through their day – and that feedback led directly to the development of BlackBerry Classic.”

The BlackBerry Classic though familiar in appearance, will feature various upgrades such as:
Three times faster browser, 60 per cent more screen space, 50 per cent longer battery life, greater variety of applications through BlackBerry World and the Amazon Appstore.

BlackBerry Classic is built on the brands renowned secure operating system, with built-in protection against viruses, tampering and data leaks. The BlackBerry Classic is private by default, protecting users with encrypted email, web browsing and BBM.
