Executives from leading companies across the mobile industry are set to address a conference in Barcelona, Spain in March next year.

The 2015 GSMA Mobile World Congress will run from March 2 to 5 at the Fira Gran Via, said a statement.

The executives are from companies including ARM, Ericsson, Micromax, Qualcomm and SAP. GSMA also announced the addition of several sponsors and companies participating in partner programmes at the annual mobile industry event.

Michael O’Hara, chief marketing officer, GSMA, said: “The breadth of companies represented in the Mobile World Congress keynote programme underscores the transformative impact that mobile is having across a wide range of industry sectors.

“We have an outstanding roster of CEOs set to take the stage in Barcelona in March, offering attendees new insights and perspectives into the developments that are shaping mobile today and well into the future.”

Meanwhile, the GSMA will host an official Mobile World Congress Media Welcome Reception March 1 at Fira Gran Via, which will offer press and industry analysts the opportunity to meet with leading players from across the mobile ecosystem and preview the week’s activities in relaxed social environment.

The reception will feature a select number of exhibition showcases and demonstrations from companies including Accedian, Mozido and Umeox Perfect Tecnology (Shen Zen).

The nomination deadline for the 20th annual Global Mobile Awards, which honour excellence and innovation across the mobile industry, has been extended by one week and will close on December 12.

The nominations for two special awards, the ‘Young Mobile Innovator of the Year’ and ‘Connected Women: Leadership in Industry’ awards, will be open until January 15.

The winners will be revealed on March 3 at the congress and is open to companies across the entire mobile ecosystem and may be entered online. - TradeArabia News Service
