STC Advanced Solutions takes part in technical conference

RIYADH, November 6, 2014

STC Advanced Solutions, a leading communications company in Saudi Arabia and a key provider of advanced, turnkey and reliable information technology (IT) solutions, took part as the technology sponsor of a forum for local and international experts in the field of technical and vocational training, employment and the exchange of experiences.

The ‘Saudi Seventh Technical Conference & Exhibition’ (STCEX 2014) was held under the guidance of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz, in the presence of government ministers, senior officials and representatives from the private sector.

It aimed at coming up with recommendations that reinforce the unified efforts to develop effective technical and vocational training programmes in Saudi Arabia, said a statement.

It also included key workshops to help improve skills of individuals while also interacting with industry experts and professionals attending the forum, it said.

Dr Sultan Bin Hassan Bin Saeed, CEO, STC Advanced Solutions, said: “Technical and vocational training today is now being seen as a crucial element in the move towards localization and the overall shift to a knowledge-based economy.

The conference aimed at discussing the importance of technical and vital vocational training programmes and its role in the development of a knowledge-based society and economy, said the statement.

It also supported local initiatives for the development of vocational and technical training programmes; encouraging the use of a labour market information system to meet the growing needs for human resource and build strategic partnerships between the public and private sectors, it said.

The forum also included an exhibition that threw the spotlight on the national efforts to support the Saudi economy and the development of local human resources.

It featured a broad portfolio of services and advanced technology products from a number of local and international authorities specialising in the field of training like the ‘British Educational Suppliers Association.’ - TradeArabia News Service
