CloudBuy, DUC unveil e-commerce solutions in Dubai

DUBAI, October 20, 2014

CloudBuy, a leading cloud e-commerce solution provider and DUC Consulting International, an innovative IT consultancy practice with a strong presence in the Middle East, North Africa (Mena) and Central Europe, presented e-commerce solutions at a conference in Dubai today (October 20).

The conference on ‘Smart e-Commerce Solutions for Public and Private Sectors’ was held at the British Embassy.

The event, which was held in co-operation with the UK Trade and Investment (UKTI), served as a venue for industry experts and C-level executives in the UAE’s public sector to meet and discuss current trends and issues surrounding e-commerce in the GCC region and cloud technology’s impact on this sector.

Ronald Duncan, chairman of cloudBuy, said: “Cloud technology has dramatically changed the e-commerce landscape worldwide, allowing the industry to flourish. We are excited to bring our expertise and our world-renowned e-commerce platform into the GCC region.”

Across the Middle East, e-Commerce sales have skyrocketed in recent years as more and more consumers opt for better deals, competitive prices and convenience that online shopping provides, according to a PayPal report.

By next year, regional online sales revenue is expected to reach $15 billion, up by over 67 per cent from the $9 billion recorded in 2012, it said.

The partnership with DUC Consulting International will  accelerate cloudBuy solutions being deployed at public and private sector customers across UAE and the wider GCC, said Duncan.

Fatima Hayat, COO of DUC Consulting International, said introducing cloudBuy’s value proposition to federal and local ministries in the UAE has been well-timed as the government adopts cloud technology in their drive to build smart cities and promote an e-Commerce revolution.

“We are confident that cloudBuy’s technology can help streamline the public sector’s purchasing portals and develop them into an efficient B2B e-Marketplace. cloudBuy Analytics will definitely support large corporations and public sector agencies in their consistent quest for cost efficiencies and growth,” said Hayat.

Duncan talked about ‘Delivering Peak Performance’, underscoring how companies and organisations can save their businesses millions of dollars, while growing their income and realising efficiency in their operations.

Meanwhile, Hayat and Dr Usman Zafar, CEO of DUC Consulting International, discussed ‘Cloud-Building Strategies for Smart Government and Smarter Cities’.

“Technology has played a significant part in supporting UAE’s economic growth. Latest data suggests that the e-Commerce industry in the UAE alone will stand at $10 billion by the end of 2018. We believe cloudBuy technology’s proven track record in the global e-Commerce scene will add value to organisations and companies in this part of the region,” added Dr Zafar. - TradeArabia News Service
