Officials at the signing ceremony

Bahrain firms sign key deals at Gitex

MANAMA, October 17, 2014

New products and technology services will be entering the Bahrain market following the signing of several memoranda of understanding at Gitex Technology Week in Dubai that concluded yesterday (October 16).

The Bahrain pavilion at the event attracted several countries and helped promote the kingdom as an investment destination, said a report in the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.

It also enabled the private sector to showcase products and explore new business partnership opportunities.

The presence of leading Bahraini information and communications technology (ICT) companies at the pavilion was enabled through the collaboration of the eGovernment Authority (eGA), Economic Development Board, WorkSmart and Bahrain Technology Companies Society.

Digital Middle East Company from Bahrain signed an agreement to start selling View Sonic Tablets on Android and iOS platforms in the Bahraini market from next month.

"We seek to meet the diverse consumer demands with a core focus on increasing the demand volume of these devices," Digital Middle East general manager Abbas Hussain said.

Al Nadeem Company has signed a joint business agreement with Gateway Group to provide in Bahrain the latter's services and programmes in customer relationship management, along with some smartphones and tablet applications.

Al Nadeem has also signed an agreement with Rujul ERP company, which specialises in delivering services in procurement management, points of sale, inventory, sales distribution management, and human resources management.

"The deals are a part of Al Nadeem's approach to benefit from advanced services towards upgrading the technology industry in Bahrain and enhancing national human resources skills," said Al Nadeem chief executive Ubaydli Al Ubaydli.

eGovernment Authority marketing and awareness directorate acting director Fahad Isa Al Qadhi expressed pride on these agreements and focused on the great strides achieved by Bahrain in the ICT industry.

He emphasised that the entry into new markets will undoubtedly boost ties and create job opportunities for Bahrainis, which have positive implications for enhancing market maturity and improving efficiency.

Al Qadhi said the eGovernment Authority's support for the Bahrain pavilion in Gitex 2014 is primarily designed to open up channels of communication and enhance prospects for investments in the ICT industry both regionally and internationally. Moreover it helps showcase and promote services and solutions delivered by local companies. - TradeArabia News Service
