UAE's leading telecom operator Etisalat said it has launched specially-designed tablet data bundles to meet the growing demand of its customers in the country.

While the shift from feature phones to smartphones continues at a super-fast pace, a recent trend indicates the growing acceptance of tablets as a replacement to laptops and desktops at homes in the UAE, said a statement from Etisalat.

In response to the evolving tablet usage for data-specific needs, Etisalat has launched affordable tablet post-paid data bundles that offer customers flexible purchase options and ease of payment on a 12-month and 24-month contract basis.

For as low as Dh150 ($41) per month, post-paid customers can get their hands on a free tablet and a minimum 1GB data allowance, it stated.

Device options include Samsung Tab S among others, all of which are available in varying sizes and colours. Customer can choose to upgrade their data plan with extra Dh100 or Dh200 per month for 5GB or 10GB respectively. A one-time extra charge may apply on certain plans, said the statement
