Omnix named new Mena distributor for FARO

DUBAI, September 18, 2014

Omnix International, a leading provider of computer aided engineering solutions in the Middle East and North Africa (Mena) region, has been named as official distributor for FARO, a trusted source for 3D measurement, imaging and realisation technology, for  UAE, Kuwait, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and Qatar.

The company will offer FARO’s latest line of laser scanners through its vast construction distribution networks in the region, serving the needs and requirements of surveyors, contractors, engineers and geospatial professionals, said a statement.

Under the agreement, the company will be selling and providing support for the FARO Laser Scanner X Series as well as its accompanying software SCENE.

The smallest and lightest laser scanners on the market - Focus3D X Series are ideal tools for indoor and outdoor applications., while the fast and accurate laser scanners Focus3D will offer everything one might expect from professional 3D laser scanners.

Focus3D X 330 will offer extra long range - 330m, Focus3D X 130 is a mid-range device offering precise scanning up to 130m. It is ideal for applications such as architecture, BIM, civil engineering, facility management, industrial manufacturing, forensics, and accident reconstruction.

Omnix International will also provide the necessary services and trainings to its clients using FARO technology.

Chris Holligan, vice president of sales at FARO, said: “We are very pleased to partner with Omnix International to further expand the 3D laser scanner platform across a broader range of Middle East markets. We chose Omnix because they serve already a large customer base, which overlaps with our target customers, with several products based on CAD and digitation. Next to that Omnix is an Autodesk partner, which fits in seamlessly with FARO’ strategic partnership with Autodesk worldwide.”

The FARO Laser Scanner X series will enable fast, straightforward and accurate measurements of objects and buildings, and will be able to record architectural façades, complex structures, production and supply facilities, accident sites, and large-volume components, said the statement.

The accompanying SCENE software supports the Focus3D X Series and is able to processes and manages scanned data easily and efficiently by using automatic object recognition as well as scan registration and positioning, it said.
