Automation, IT experts to meet at Oman Scada event

International and regional control, automation and IT experts are due to meet at Oman’s supervisory control and data acquisition (Scada) event next month in Muscat, Oman.

The Oman Scada Conference will take place from October 27 to 30 at the Crowne Plaza, said a statement.

The conference will cover critical network security issues related to securing systems against evolving cyber security threats and creating centralised networks to achieve additional functionality and interoperability to enhance business capabilities and assure stakeholders, it said.



The two interactive Scada Workshops sessions will focus on how to create an aggregated security posture and improve delivery of automation projects to increase scalability and achieve cost-effective, reliable applications, which will bring some of the key players in critical infrastructure together to discuss the imminent requirements.



The conference, under the technical sponsorship of IEEE’s Oman Section and in partnership with ISACA Muscat and the Industrial Cybersecurity Centre in Spain, will be an opportunity for Scada and cyber security vendors and suppliers to meet with heads of control, automation and IT from Oman looking for solutions to enhance their business processes, communication and performance.

More than 60 regional control, automation, IT and Security experts will attend this year’s annual event including Petroleum Development Oman, Daleel Petroleum, Oman Gas Company, Orpic, Port of Salalah, Oman National CERT - ITA, Transco, Petrofac, Saudi Electricity Company, TASNEE, Canadian Nexen – Yemen. - TradeArabia News Service
