UAE wins ‘Summit Creative Award’ for govt website

Abu Dhabi, August 28, 2014

The Emirates Identity Authority (Emirates ID) has won the ‘Summit Creative Award’ in the best government website category in a stiff contest that saw organizations from 24 countries from around the world putting up their best.

The award committee which consisted of top global experts in information technology and website design granted the award to the authority in the bronze segment.

“Winning this award is a significant boost to the Emirates ID’s continuous efforts to bringing all its services up to date with the best that technology and knowledge can offer. We stop at nothing in our efforts to offer the best to our customers,” the authority said.

“The website of the Emirates ID provides quick access to all the required information, besides offering a number of interactive facilities for the customer to communicate with it. It is an important milestone in the UAE’s efforts at accomplishing the transformation towards integrated e-governance at all levels. Apart from enabling the filling of application forms for Emirates ID cards, the website also gives instant status reports on the status of the application as well as whether it was ready for delivery at the post office,” a statement said.

Emirates ID website ranked first in the government website assessment report released by UAE’s Telecommunication Regulatory Authority late in 2013. It also won the ‘Best Arab Government Website’ and the ‘Best Strategic Facebook Page’ awards given by “Tatweej Academy” for Excellence Awards in the Arab region. More importantly, the authority was the winner for the Summit Award for the best website last year as well. - TradeArabia News Service
