Batelco-Mobily deal offers LTE roaming in Saudi

Batelco, Bahrain’s leading telecommunications services provider, has launched 4G LTE data roaming services to customers travelling in Saudi Arabia, in a deal with Saudi Arabia’s Mobily.
 
The customers need not subscriber for LTE roaming as those with local LTE services can benefit from the high speeds automatically, said the statement.
 
They can also raom on other 4G netowrks using a new IPX technology based on mutual agreement with other roaming operators, besides Mobily, it said.
 
Muna Alhashimi, general manager - Consumer Division, said that many of Batelco’s customers travel in Saudi Arabia during the holy month of Ramadan and during Eid holidays or to perform Umra, and accordingly the  4G LTE Data Roaming service will be a great benefit for them.
