Batelco launches 4G LTE roaming

Manama, March 11, 2014

Batelco, a leading telecom services provider in Bahrain, has launched LTE Data Roaming for its customers travelling in Saudi Arabia, becoming the first telco in the kingdom to provide the service.

Batelco’s customers will now be able to enjoy 4G high speed mobile internet while roaming in the Saudi Arabia, thanks to the new agreement between Batelco and Mobily, a major telecom company in the kingdom.

There is no need to subscribe for LTE roaming as subscribers with local LTE service can benefit from the high speeds right away. Beside the direct connection with Mobily, Batelco customers will be able to roam on other 4G networks using a new IPX technology based on mutual agreement with the other roaming operators.

Batelco general manager Muna Alhashimi said: “We always promise to delight our customers and deliver an impressive Batelco experience by committing to invest in the latest technologies that ensure our customers benefit from world class products and services.”

“We currently have 1294 roaming agreements with international operators and we will continue to expand in line with our strategy to provide our customers with access to the best communication connections to reach all areas of the world and to benefit them whilst roaming overseas,” she added. – TradeArabia News Service
