Etisalat unveils smartphone purchase plans

Abu Dhabi, February 12, 2014

Etisalat, the UAE’s leading telecom services provider, has unveiled 12-month easy payment plans for the purchase of the latest smartphones, with zero interest.

The operator has tied up with Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank, Emirates Islamic Bank, Emirates NBD, National Bank of Abu Dhabi and Mashreq Bank to provide both post and pre-paid customers with an alternative option for purchasing smartphones and devices.

Under the scheme, customers can buy the latest Apple, Samsung, BlackBerry, Nokia or Huawei smartphones using the banks' credit card and avail of a 12-month instalment scheme.

Khaled ElKhouly, chief marketing officer, said: “The UAE’s smartphone penetration is among the highest in the world but we understand some consumers may be unable to purchase their desired phone. We are committed to offering the best value services and offers to our customers and we want to make buying a smartphone as convenient and affordable as possible.”

New smartphones and devices will be added to the plan as they come in to the market, he said.

To avail of the offer, customers must purchase the device with the partnered banks credit card from any Etisalat business centre or outlet.

After making the purchase, the customer should call their bank within three working days to request to be switched to the 12 months easy payment plan. - TradeArabia News Service
