Etisalat offers 100 jobs at Tawdheef

Abu Dhabi, February 4, 2014

Etisalat, a leading telecom provider in the UAE, is offering more than 100 career opportunities in engineerings, sales and enterprise at Tawdheef Abu Dhabi 2014.

The recruitment fair, which will run till tomorrow (February 5) at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, is a platform that provides an opportunity for companies in the UAE to engage with local job seekers at all levels.

Younis Abdulaziz Al Nimr, chief HR officer, said: “Etisalat is committed to nurturing and developing national talent and we are happy to be part of Tawdheef as it is one of the main sources to recruit talented locals. We are keen to meet ambitious Emiratis who want to be a part of an organisation where they can make a real difference and we aim to give them a better understanding of how we recruit for available positions.

Etisalat’s local recruitment strategy is modelled on a pyramid structure whereby UAE nationals are recruited in every department, thus providing local talent to all sectors of the industry.

The telecom major offers several programmes, which target university graduates, diploma holders and high school graduates to support this strategy.

It includes the Intermediate Management Development Programme, which is aimed at supervisors and managers, and a certificate from the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development, which provides an introduction to a career in HR.

Etisalat also offers a programme in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) as well as courses in e-learning, which provide training via the internet.

The operator has also committed to the Abshar initiative, which aims to boost the number of Emiratis entering the workforce.

On the technical side, Etisalat has created programmes for university and Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT) graduates, which have helped Etisalat increase its number of Emirati technicians by 35 per cent, representing a total of 900 employees.

In line with its Emiratisation objectives, the company has set a target to increase the percentage of its UAE National workforce to 45 per cent by 2015. - TradeArabia News Service
