Batelco announces new telegram tariffs

Batelco, Bahrain’s leading telecommunications company, has announced new local and international telegram tariffs, which will come into effect on July 12.
The tariff changes are a result of major service enhancements that were aimed at improving customer experience. For local telegrams, the new charges will depend on the number of words included and be calculated as follows:
• 0-30 words – BD1
• 31-60 words – BD3
• 61 and above – BD5

The telegram service is still being used extensively today, especially for government and VIP entities. Telegrams are a convenient and economical way to send important messages, said the company.
Customers can easily access the numerous pre-written telegram messages for a variety of occasions that are available online on www.batelco.com/portal/fixed/. Customers can also create their own customised messages.
To send a telegram, customers may phone (973) 1788 1131 or visit any Batelco Retail Shop. Alternatively, telegram requests may be received by fax on (973) 17 261152 or via email on telegram@batelco.com.bh. Full service details are available on the above website, it said.
