Paramount Computer names new COO

Dubai, September 23, 2009

Paramount, a leading regional provider of products and services for securing the Information Assets of Enterprises in the Middle East, has appointed G. Ramaswamy (Ram) as the new chief operating officer.

Ram brings with him over 21 years of IT industry experience spanning diverse functions such as systems engineering, technical support, sales, marketing, channel management and new business development.

As COO, Ram will be responsible for all day-to-day operational matters including strategy co-ordination and execution, resource management, operational quality and efficiency management.

Speaking on the appointment, Premchand Kurup, CEO of Paramount said, “We are happy to have Ram on board. He has worked in key positions at a number of global IT giants and brings with him considerable experience. He is well respected in the industry for his knowledge and problem solving capabilities."

Ram’s experience spans across global multinational and transnational companies like Wipro, Compaq, Sun Microsystems, and MindTree. Ram spent his initial years at Wipro in technical support managing a team supporting the Sun range of servers and workstations.

He worked with Compaq in India initially as their Systems Engineering Manager and subsequently as Business Solutions Manager for the Manufacturing Industry. Subsequent to Compaq’s merger with Digital, Ram was responsible for driving the Systems Integration business for Compaq in India.

He also played a key role as general manager for the iForce Partner program for Sun Microsystems.

Most recently prior to joining Paramount, Ram spent over 7 years at MindTree Ltd an India based outsourcing company. He joined MindTree as director of marketing & strategic alliances.

He was also responsible for establishing the Middle East business for MindTree and running it for 3 years, before moving over to the UK to manage their UK and Northern European business.

Ram holds a Bachelors Degree in Electronics Engineering and Masters Degree in Financial Management.-TradeArabia News Service
