Alba wins big at Middle East Investor Relations Awards

Aluminium Bahrain (Alba) has announced that it has won two major awards - Leading Corporate for Investor Relations (IR) in Bahrain and Best Investor Relations Professional – Bahrain - at the 2022 Middle East Investor Relations Association (MEIRA) Hybrid Annual Conference and Awards held in Riyadh.
At plus-1.561 million metric tonnes per annum (2021), Alba is one of the world’s largest aluminium smelters with more than 50 years of excellence in Operations, Safety, Environment and Socio-Economic Development.
A blue-chip asset of Bahrain, Alba had completed five decades of commercial operations in May last year. The company marked its Golden Jubilee by breaking all its previous records in safety and topping 30 million safe working-hours without Lost Time Injury (LTI) on September 1 for the first-time in its history.
Alba’s CEO Ali Al Baqali said: "Markets fluctuate all the time, but we want our investors-base to stay the course with Alba - this can only be done through a very strong investor relations team."

The MEIRA Hybrid Annual Conference and Awards is the largest investor relations event in Mena region, which recognises the efforts of regionally-listed companies and IR professionals for their critical role in shaping the IR landscape.
It is also a platform for locally-listed firms, international corporates, investors, research analysts, advisors, and regulatory bodies to share best practices and discuss the market challenges.
On the top honours, Hilal said: "We are humbled to be selected again by our wider investor-base, local and international, for these IR awards. Our efforts have paid well as we want our investors to not only know what they own but rather why they should own Alba stock. "
