UAE’s Cosmopole and Israel’s Kamir Strategy in tie-up

ABU DHABI, October 22, 2020

A month after the UAE and Israel signed the historic Abraham Accords, a new cross-business initiative to connect Israeli ventures to UAE companies and investors has been launched.

The programme, “Connecting UAE-Israel”, will begin this month with a series of briefing webinars which will match both up-and-coming entrepreneurial talent and established companies in Israel with savvy business investors and experts within the emirates.

The initiative is the first joint venture under a new strategic partnership between UAE-based PR firm Cosmopole and Tel Aviv-based consultancy Kamir, a leading strategy and PR firm in Israel.

Cosmopole is a consultancy specialising in public relations and digital marketing. The agency works with a range of clients - from start-ups, global organisations and governments - with the aim of helping them establish their presence and reputation, and ultimately to grow their business in the UAE and the Middle East.

Kamir is an independent strategic government, media and stakeholder relations consultancy, focused on managing complex situations on behalf of its clients.

Together, the two agencies hope to connect both counties and encourage business partnerships and bilateral relationships following the ground-breaking Abraham Accords.

The first in the virtual online series, “Connecting UAE-Israel: Investment Opportunities in Healthcare”, will take place on October 26 and will focus on innovation in medicine; primarily biotech, medtech and general healthcare technology.

Aviad Tamir, the Head of Life Sciences & Healthcare at Invest in Israel, will give the opening address, with his keynote focusing on an ‘Overview of the Healthcare Ecosystem at Invest in Israel’. Attendees to the webinar will hear presentations from the CEOs, CFOs, founders, and medical experts behind several Israel healthcare companies which are garnering rising prominence globally.

They include Ayana Pharma, a pharmaceutical company focused on the development of Liposomal Therapeutics - currently waiting for FDA approval - to treat cancer, and MediWound; a biotechnology niche specialty company, focused on developing manufacturing and globally commercialising innovative products to address unmet needs in the field of serve burns and chronic wound management.

Furthermore, presentations will be heard from Galmed, a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on disease-modifying treatment for fatty liver disorders, Inretio, a company developing treatment for ischemic stroke treatment, and aVISI, a pharma company developing a drug delivery for leading causes of visual impairment and blindness.

“The UAE and Israel are two of the most developed and innovative countries in the Middle East, if not the entire world,” said Claire Micheletti, Managing Director of Cosmopole. "Both are known for their consistent pursuit of social, economic and financial stability. On September 15th, 2020, both countries decided to take their relationships one step forward, towards a better future.

"The Abraham Accord is the cornerstone of many new opportunities to come. 'Connecting UAE-Israel' is a liaison hub designed to foster connections and introductions between a broad diversity of companies from the UAE and Israel by conducting a series of events tailored to specific business profile and objectives. In this historical time, we firmly believe that many great deeds, friendships and partnerships will abound.

"With this spirit in mind, we believe Cosmopole and Kamir can link the dots and conduct introductions between companies."

Commenting on the new partnership, Founder and Chairman, Eli Kamir, said: “Cosmopole and Kamir are pleased to announce they have entered into a global strategic partnership, combining Cosmopole’s industry-leading management consulting services and cross-cultural and multinational expertise with Kamir’s world-class strategy-led services.

“The Cosmopole-Kamir partnership is a powerful combination; one which share a decade of experience working with international and domestic corporations in the UAE and Israel.

"Our experience lies within escorting international clients to enter our markets and local clients to operate abroad can be a significant advantage in this case.

After many years of experience working with international and national corporations and government entities, Cosmopole and Kamir’s experience and network creates perfect grounds to base these connections between the companies that will join us in the “Connecting UAE-Israel” initiative.

“Connecting UAE-Israel” aims to connect the UAE and Israel and help unite both countries for progress and prosperity.
