Michelin expands retail business in UAE

UAE, 27 days ago

Central Trading Company, the authorised distributor of Michelin within Dubai and Northern Emirates, has signed an agreement with AutoPro to sell Michelin tyres across its stores in Dubai and Northern Emirates.

This cooperation includes supply of Michelin branded tyres, with Emirates Authority for Standardisation and Metrology (Esma) required RFID tags to the vast network of AutoPro service centres located in Dubai and Sharjah, said a statement.

Naser Shashaa, regional director, Michelin Middle East, said: “We are constantly looking at expanding our presence in the markets we operate and facilitate the access to Michelin Tyres, one of the world’s most renowned brands.”

“AutoPro is a trusted name for professional automotive services and we are therefore very excited with this partnership.  In addition to existing Michelin point of sales, our customers in the emirates will now have convenient access to our products and certified services at more locations near them,” added Shashaa.

This distribution partnership between Michelin and AutoPro will allow expansion of Michelin’s retail footprint in Dubai and Northern Emirates. The 39 AutoPro service stations will complement existing Michelin point of sale in the UAE by providing full range of Michelin products and expert services of tyre change, safety checks, nitrogen inflation, alignment and other non-tyre related services.

Zaid Alqufaidi, managing director, Enoc Retail, said: “With continuous growth in population, UAE residents have become more discerning in their choice of automotive requirements. To this end, AutoPro which operates the largest network of automotive facilities in Dubai and the Northern Emirates has strategically partnered with high-quality suppliers to transfer value to customers.”

“Our partnership with Michelin supports that commitment towards operational excellence in the business and this collaboration will allow our customers to choose from the best Michelin products and services for their automotive needs,” Alqufaidi added.

Mohammed Aqel, general manager, Central Trading Company – member of Al Rostamani Group, said: “We are proudly associated with Michelin for the past 35 years and have grown extensively throughout Dubai and the Northern Emirates.”

“Through this partnership with Autopro, we will further grow our business with strong and positive impact in availability and visibility of Michelin Tyres. We look forward to a smooth partnership in the coming years,” he added. – TradeArabia News Service
