L&T consortium wins over $1bn Saudi Aramco project

RIYADH, July 18, 2019

India's top engineering and construction firm Larsen & Toubro (L&T) said one of its key subsidiaries, L&T Hydrocarbon Engineering Limited (LTHE), has won a contract worth nearly Rs70 billion ($1.01 billion) from state oil giant Saudi Aramco for its key oil field development project in Marjan.

The Saudi group had awarded the project as a consortium comprising LTHE and Singapore-based global offshore contractor Emas AMC (A Subsea7 Company).

The scope of work includes construction of oil facilities for the Marjan Incremental Development Project besides four tie-in platforms, one tie platform module, nine production deck modules (wellhead decks) besides laying of 217 km of subsea pipelines across 25 segments, and 145 km of subsea cables across 16 segments, said the statement from L&T.

It also includes the replacement of existing control gears at eight existing SA Offshore platforms and tie-in to existing systems, it added.

The Indian construction major pointed out that Saudi Aramco’s trust on LTHE’s commitment to consistent project performance and ability to put the best team of young professionals to deliver value, time and again has resulted in the award of this mega contract for oil facilities for the Marjan Increment Program.

It bears testimony to the execution capability of LTHE with excellent safety and quality performance, which was repeatedly demonstrated in the execution of the Hasbah Gas Increment Project and other projects in the kingdom including: Marjan, Safaniya, Zulf and Berri, said the L&T statement.

All projects were executed through LTHE’s fabrication facilities in the Middle East and India, it added.-TradeArabia News Service
