Bahrain’s Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunication together with APM Terminals Bahrain and Supreme Council of Environment have embarked on a mission to clean up the sea bed nearby Khalifa Bin Salman Port.

This initiative is being carried out in various phases with the first phase concluding to coincide with the World Environment day wherein the initiative succeeded in the removal of 70 kg of waste with the assistance of 10 voluntary divers.

The initial phase covered an area of approximately 20 miles north of Bahrain. It was observed that the designated area contained a considerable amount of waste including plastic and debris.

APM Terminals Bahrain, as part of its corporate social responsibility, focuses on three core pillars – Environment, Education and Trade and continues to make a positive impact in these areas.

World Environment Day is the UN's most important day for encouraging worldwide awareness and action for the protection of our environment and marine Life.
